We’re hiring one in-person tutor to provide small-group and push-in classroom support for grades 3-5 in Math and ELA at PS 181 Brookfield. The tutor will work closely with students and teachers during school hours, reinforcing literacy and math skills, strengthening comprehension, and fostering academic confidence in an engaging and supportive environment. The tutor’s primary focus will be supporting student state exam growth while actively collaborating with teachers.What You’ll Do:
- Provide small-group and push-in tutoring support in ELA and Math for students in grades 3-5.
- Work alongside teachers to enhance classroom instruction and offer targeted academic interventions.
- Support students in developing reading comprehension, writing, and math problem-solving skills.
- Foster a positive and structured learning environment that encourages student engagement and growth.
- Adapt to different learning styles and provide individualized support as needed.
- Focus on state exam growth by implementing strategies that strengthen student performance.
Schedule:
- Days: Monday – Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 2:36 PM, Thursday/Friday: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- Duration: April 7, 2025 – May 2, 2025 (excluding holidays and school conferences)
- Key Dates Off:
- March 31 – Eid al-Fitr
- April 14–18 – Spring Recess
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: Previous experience tutoring or teaching ELA and Math at the elementary level.
- Subject Proficiency: Strong knowledge of grades 3-5 ELA and Math concepts.
- Engagement Skills: Ability to inspire and motivate students in a supportive learning environment.
- Collaboration: Willingness to work closely with teachers and school staff to align instruction with classroom goals.
- Adaptability: Capable of adjusting teaching strategies based on student needs.
- Commitment: Must be available for the full duration of the program.
- Energy & Enthusiasm: A lively and proactive approach to student engagement and classroom collaboration.
