About the Role:
We’re hiring two in-person Algebra tutors to provide push-in academic support for 9th and 10th grade students at Jonas Bronck Academy. The tutors will work in collaboration with classroom teachers to deliver small-group Regents prep sessions, helping students strengthen their understanding of Algebra concepts and build confidence ahead of their exams.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide in-class push-in support for Algebra I and Algebra II instruction in 9th and 10th grade classrooms.
• Deliver small-group Regents preparation support, helping students grasp key concepts and problem-solving strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers to identify learning gaps and tailor instruction to meet student needs.
• Foster a supportive, inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and growth.
• Track student progress and communicate observations to instructional staff when needed.

Schedule:

• Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
• Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
• Duration: April 22, 2025 – June 5, 2025

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience: Prior experience tutoring or teaching high school Algebra I and II.
• Subject Proficiency: Strong understanding of algebraic concepts and ability to teach problem-solving strategies effectively.
• Team Player: Collaborative spirit and a willingness to work closely with teachers and students.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to effectively connect with students and school staff.
• Passion: A commitment to educational equity and helping students from diverse backgrounds succeed.
• Availability: Must be able to work the specified schedule consistently.
