Position: Small-Group Elementary School Math and ELA Tutor

About the Role:
We’re hiring one dedicated in-person tutor to provide small-group ELA and Math instruction at PS 112 Bronxwood. The tutor will work closely with teachers, providing "push-in" support to various 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade classrooms throughout the day. Your role will be essential in reinforcing foundational skills, improving academic confidence, and ensuring student success.

What You’ll Do:

• Collaborate with teachers and school leaders to provide engaging and focused small-group instruction in ELA and Math.
• Support various classrooms throughout the day, assisting teachers with targeted instruction.
• Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity and resilience.
• Be a valued part of a team dedicated to transforming educational outcomes in underserved communities.

Schedule:

• Days: Monday – Friday
• Time: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
• Duration: February 10, 2025 – April 11, 2025 (excluding holidays and school conferences)
• Key Dates Off:
  • February 17–21: Midwinter Recess
  • March 6: Elementary Conferences
  • March 31: Eid al-Fitr

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience: Prior experience tutoring or teaching elementary school math and ELA.
• Subject Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Math and ELA at the elementary level.
• Team Player: Collaborative spirit and a desire to work closely with teachers and students.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to connect effectively with diverse audiences.
• Passion: A commitment to educational equity and social justice for minority and low-income students.
• Availability: Must be able to work the specified schedule consistently.
