About the Role:
We’re hiring one dedicated in-person tutor to provide small-group ELA and Math instruction at PS 112 Bronxwood. The tutor will work closely with teachers, providing "push-in" support to various 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade classrooms throughout the day. Your role will be essential in reinforcing foundational skills, improving academic confidence, and ensuring student success.
What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate with teachers and school leaders to provide engaging and focused small-group instruction in ELA and Math.
- Support various classrooms throughout the day, assisting teachers with targeted instruction.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity and resilience.
- Be a valued part of a team dedicated to transforming educational outcomes in underserved communities.
Schedule:
- Days: Monday – Friday
- Time: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- Duration: February 10, 2025 – April 11, 2025 (excluding holidays and school conferences)
- Key Dates Off:
- February 17–21: Midwinter Recess
- March 6: Elementary Conferences
- March 31: Eid al-Fitr
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: Prior experience tutoring or teaching elementary school math and ELA.
- Subject Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Math and ELA at the elementary level.
- Team Player: Collaborative spirit and a desire to work closely with teachers and students.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to connect effectively with diverse audiences.
- Passion: A commitment to educational equity and social justice for minority and low-income students.
- Availability: Must be able to work the specified schedule consistently.
